Mandi Erin

Who is Mandi?
Born on Long Island, NY Mandi has been constantly eyeing the world of theatre and has always been doing her best to show others the joy of storytelling. She took up dance and voice lessons as soon as her parents would let her. Her main drives to musical theatre are Disney's animated The Lion King, The Muppet movies, and Scrooge: The Musical. Any opportunity that have been given to her to be on stage she took it, including church Christmas pageants and choirs. But somethings were harder to get involved in because of being home schooled.

After a one week theatre summer camp when the touring group Missoula Children's Theatre came to her town she was all in with the idea of becoming an actress, a few years later while in attendance of this camp she was nominated to go to Missoula, Montana and take part in the Next Step: Prep program. While there she learned some of what it takes to be a performer in the industry through master classes with professionals including Bill Bower's (original Zazu on Broadway), and Andy and Alet Taylor. After this summer program, Mandi auditioned for her local high school's production of South Pacific. She made ensemble and a week before the show opened she sprained her ankle. The director said that having one of the nurses on crutches would add some comic relief to different parts of the show and let her stay in the cast and in the dances (with modified choreography).

Mandi graduated in 2020 from Huntington University with a BFA in Theatre Performance and a Minor in Music. In her first year at HU she even got to play a dream role, playing one of the Cratchet kids (Martha) in a stage version of A Christmas Carol. She has also been blessed to be in the cast of Peter and the Starcatcher, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and in her senior year played another dream role, Snoopy, in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. She has also been trained in the acting techniques of Stanislavsky and Uta Hagen. In voice, she has been trained in singing art songs and classical arias, as well as musical theatre songs from it's early begins to modern. And in her time at HU has been able to sing in the operatic reviews of Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables.

After college Mandi took the stage at The Erie Playhouse in the dance ensembles of Something Rotten, White Christmas, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, It's a Wonderful Life, and The SpongeBob Squarepants musical as Patchy the Pirate.

Mandi was also blessed to work with the International College of Musical Theatre in their summer camp in Nova Scotia, Canada in 2019. While there she was a featured soloist and played the role of Annie in Cell Block Tango.

Mandi is currently touring with the Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) as a Tour Actor/Director (TAD). She was toured three shows with MCT: The Emperor's New Clothes (as Rudy), Red Riding Hood (as Big Bad Wolf), and currently The Secret Garden (as Detective Del).
